We continue to adhere to the maxim that all politics are local. This is still true, but, over time, our understanding of how best to achieve this has changed.
AAI operates as a grasstops – as opposed to grassroots – organization, meaning that we serve as a conduit between elected and appointed officials, national media, and local activists and leaders. This allows us to advance the work of local organizations and position the concerns of Arab Americans on a national platform.
